Aloquent · iPhone and iPad

Effective October 21, 2026 · Aloquent · Atkinson Interactive

The short version

  • Your lessons, quiz answers, mastery, XP, streak and settings stay on your device. We never receive them.
  • There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting tools in the app.
  • Aloquent Premium is optional and sold through Apple. We never see your payment details.
  • To show classic books in your feed, the app asks the public Gutendex service for details about a fixed list of public-domain titles. The request contains nothing about you.
  • We don't collect, sell or share your personal information.

Who we are

Aloquent is published by Atkinson Interactive (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the Aloquent app for iPhone and iPad handles, and your choices about it.

Information that stays on your device

Everything the app needs to teach and track your progress is stored only on your device. This includes:

  • Your chosen difficulty level, learning focus, daily goal and theme
  • Lessons you've viewed or skipped, and quiz answers you've given
  • Mastery scores, review schedules, XP, level and streak
  • How many questions you've answered today (used for the free daily limit) and when you last used a streak freeze
  • Whether daily reminders are on and the time you chose

We don't operate servers for the app and have no access to this information. It may be included in your device backups (for example, iCloud Backup), which are controlled by you and Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Classic book recommendations

Aloquent's feed includes cards about public-domain books. To keep their titles and summaries current, the app requests details for a fixed list of books from Gutendex, a free public service that provides information from Project Gutenberg. The request contains only those book numbers. It does not include your progress, your name or any identifier from us. As with any web request, the service receives your IP address. If the request fails or you're offline, the app uses a built-in list instead.

If you tap a link to read a book, it opens Project Gutenberg in your browser, which is governed by that site's own policies.

Reminders, spoken words and the widget

  • Daily reminders are optional. If you turn them on, iOS asks for permission to show notifications, and the app schedules them on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings › Notifications.
  • Listening exercises read words aloud using Apple's built-in speech on your device. Your answers are checked on your device and are not recorded or sent anywhere.
  • The Word of the Day widget shows a word from a list built into the app. It doesn't read your progress or any other data.

Purchases

Aloquent Premium is optional. It's available as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly, which may include a free trial) or a one-time lifetime purchase, all sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment; we receive no payment or card details, and Apple doesn't share your name or email with us. The app only checks with Apple whether you have an active Premium purchase, and remembers the result on your device. You can restore purchases from the app's Settings, and manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.

Crash reports

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash and performance reports. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

What we don't do

  • We don't require an account or collect your name, email, contacts or location.
  • We don't receive your payment information.
  • We don't show ads, use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps and websites.
  • We don't use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • We don't sell or share your personal information.

Deleting your data

Because your data is only on your device, you're in control of it. To clear your progress while keeping your preferences, open Settings in the app and choose Reset learning progress. Deleting the app removes all of its data, including settings, from your device.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. We don't hold personal information about you from the app. For any questions, contact us using the details below.

Children

Aloquent is an educational app suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It has no ads, accounts or ways to communicate with other people. Optional Premium purchases go through Apple, where parents can require approval with Ask to Buy.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
